Lecture 12&13: talent and safety
Lecture 13 was very interesting. The big question that raised many questions in society was the word " TALENt." Is porn considered a talent?
Some porn stars enjoy engaging in porn because they love having sex all day long, and they feel that it is what they are good at, so why should they stop if they like doing porn. Most porn stars have this mentality that being a porn star is the best thing that could ever happen to them and they don't care what other people think. Indeed, they feel that it paids good and they wouldn't be able to find another job that pays them the same, or even they might hate the job. I don't know what is going through these people head but being porn star is not a TALENT. It is not ethnical and it definely not considered a talent. Anybody could have sex and it is not difficult, but who wants to have sex in public.
On the other hand, I feel that being involved in a porn industry it is very dangerous and unhealthy. These individuals sometimes don't use condoms because they feel it is not the same sensation and plus they feel it is more entertaining for the public. They feel the public don't want to look at porn if person are using condoms. In addition, porn industries think it might decrease their profits and by using a condom these individuals wouldn't be able to do perform certain sex positions.That is straight bull crap. I feel that condoms should be used doesn't matter what the public thinks, or even about the sensation. Okay, they can't give a blow job with a condom, so what that is no excuse. They have condoms that is made just for blow jobs. I wondered if they get fired if they want to use a condom?
These porn industries don't care about their workers health. By being involved in porn,it is not safe job. Most porn stars ends up getting some type of STDS or even AIDS and then their life is over. However, there some porn starts who don't say anything and continues to have sex and spread the disease. I wondered do these individuals think about other people rather than themselves. This society sometimes don't think at all.
Also, I wondered why their friends who is involved in the industry keep it a secret. They never know if they going to sleep with that person. For example, the girl was supposed to performmed double anal sex but didn't do it because one the guys had AIDS however, she didn't tell the producer and I think she end up losing her job. All of this could have been prevented if she had said something to the producer. In the porn industry they don't have a choice who they want to have sex with, so if they don't want to have sex with a person, they end up getting kick out.
My point is being porn star shouldn't be considered a talent because it is not safe. In addion, I think all the porn industries should have their worker use condoms to prevent any type STD. Indeed, they should get tested at least once a month in all countries.
